The practical bits

Frequently asked questions

Choose a question below. If your situation is more specific, especially if it involves an injury or health concern, please speak to the team before booking.

Getting started

Is Reformer Pilates suitable for beginners?

Yes. You do not need previous Pilates experience, impressive flexibility or a secret handshake. Our beginner-friendly sessions introduce the equipment, key movements and class structure at a comfortable pace.

Where should I start?

If you are new and happy in a small group, begin with our Reformer Signature 1st Class. If you would prefer individual support, have an injury or feel unsure about particular movements, contact us first and we will recommend the safest route.

How long are the classes?

All Reformer Pilates classes are 55 minutes and all Fitness classes are 45 minutes.

Do I need to be fit or flexible?

No. Reformer Pilates is about controlled movement, strength and confidence — not touching your toes on command. Exercises can be adjusted to suit different starting points and abilities.

Can I join if I already have Reformer experience?

Absolutely. Explore our class options and choose the level that reflects your experience. If you are transferring from another studio and are uncertain which class fits, contact the team for a recommendation.

Health and comfort

What if I have an injury or health concern?

Please tell us before booking. We can discuss your needs, any advice from your medical professional and whether a private session or a particular class would be most appropriate. We cannot diagnose injuries, but we can help you make a sensible start.

Can I attend during pregnancy or after having a baby?

Please contact us before attending so we can understand your stage of pregnancy or postnatal recovery, your previous experience and any medical guidance. We will advise whether an available session is suitable.

Classes and studio visits

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, fitted clothing that allows you to move freely. Grippy socks are recommended for Reformer sessions. Avoid clothing with loose zips or anything likely to catch on the equipment.

What should I bring?

Bring water and your grippy socks. Most importantly, arrive with enough time to settle in and tell your instructor about anything that may affect your movement that day.

How early should I arrive?

For your first visit, aim to arrive around 10 minutes early. This gives you time to find the studio, get comfortable and meet your instructor without beginning your Pilates career at a sprint.

Where is the studio and is there parking?

We are at 11 Horseshoe Park, Pangbourne, Reading RG8 7JW. Parking is available on the estate, making arrival reassuringly less theatrical than most town-centre fitness trips.

Booking and memberships

How do I book a class?

Choose your class or membership online and use the booking system to reserve your place. If you are new and unsure which option to select, start with the Reformer Signature 1st Class or contact us for friendly advice.
